Every pregnancy has some risks, but there are more dangers to your health and the health of your fetus with a high risk pregnancy. The causes can be conditions you already have or conditions you develop during your pregnancy.
Causes which develop/ detected during pregnancy :
Preeclampsia and Eclampsia ( it is a condition in which a combination of high blood pressure and protein in the urine exists during pregnancy).
Gestational diabetes( diabetes that develops during pregnancy).
Preterm Labor is labor that begins before 37 weeks of pregnancy. Common causes are certain infections, a shortened cervix, or previous preterm birth. Signs of Premature Labor.
Pre - existing conditions which complicate pregnancy :
Heart disease .
High blood pressure .
Kidney problems .
Autoimmune disorders .
Sexually transmitted diseases - HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis B .
Diabetes .
Cancer .
Young or old maternal age[less than 20 years of age or more than 35 years of age].
Being overweight or underweight .
Having had problems in previous pregnancies.
